Tavis Smiley must want his Black card back. Aside from explaining his earlier Obama criticism in the best way I've seen thus far and striking an incisive blow regarding the debate moderators, Tavis absolutely puts Sarah Palin on blast:
This is the most multicultural, multiracial, multi-ethnic America ever. And no one should get to the White House in this America without us having a clear understand on where they stand with regard to those kinds of issues. This is the most multicultural, multiracial, multi-ethnic America ever. And no one should get to the White House in this America without us having a clear understand on where they stand with regard to those kinds of issues. She’s been asked nothing of the sort. I just don’t get a sense that Sarah Palin understands anything about me, anything about people of color.

It is remarkable that this question hasn't been asked: why is a major party candidate in this nation allowed to essentially ignore an entire racial and cultural group, one that they're running to represent? Republicans run seemingly without any African-American interest at heart, and feel it permissible to demonize and stereotype us if it helps move them up in the polls. And Lost Boys like Michael Steele and Joe Watkins wonder why we're not keeping our minds open.
