A JJP reader says Ashley Todd's playing with the same fire Charles Stuart set in 1989, and he remembers how hot it is:
I remember 1989 very well.

I was headed to the house of a friend who lived across the street from Boston City Hospital. I got off the Mass. Ave. bus and when I was within a block of his house, a police car sped up out of nowhere and my face was up against the side of a building before I could even blink.

I’m 6′0 tall and have weighed between 175-185 points since I was in high school. I didn’t fit the description. But there I was with my face up against the side of a building.

I won’t share the rest.

But I lived to tell about it.

I hadn’t heard about the murder until that time because, well, when you’re in college and the Internet isn’t around, you simply pay little attention to what’s going on in the outside world. At least that’s how it was for me back in 1989. So when I left my dorm room that day, I wasn’t afraid.

When people like Ashley Todd and Susan Smith and Charles Stuart do what they do, I’m back with my face up against the side of a building.

And I don’t like it.
