MoveOn.org's new ad, "Timeline", piggybacks on the Maliki demand for a timetable for U.S. withdrawal from Iraq - one that Obama has echoed and McCain has decried. The normally confrontational group has put out an piece with a vibe you wouldn't expect from a campaign ad, and maybe that's why I like it so much:

The images connect our world to that which is so very foreign to us, helping us to sympathize with the plight of the Iraqi citizens trapped in their own country. We'll see how effective it is.

Meanwhile, the usual suspects hate it. A response from the RNC:
“MoveOn.org is repaying Barack Obama for his ideological position on Iraq by running ads that ignore the improving situation in Iraq,” said Alex Conant, R.N.C. spokesman said. “Obama and MoveOn were wrong to oppose the surge, and they’re wrong to demand immediate withdrawal now. Rather than listening to MoveOn.org to set his strategy, Barack Obama should withhold judgment until he meets with our commanders in Iraq.”

I'd love the RNC to tell Maliki that he was wrong. (Oh, wait...McCain already tried that.)
