Weekly Standard editor and New York Times columnist Bill Kristol suggested today on "Fox News Sunday" that if Bush thinks Obama's going to win, he'd consider dropping the bomb on Iran.

Primarily to affect the Presidential race and ensure the continuation of his policies beyond January 20, 2009.

I wish that I was kidding.

I'm all for healthy debate and dialogue across the aisles of our American politics, but at times, it must be said: some of these folks are plain evil. There's really no other way to term it. Given that the nutty neocon Kristol's predictions often turn out to be wrong, here's hoping he keeps up his streak. But given President Bush's disregard of American interests in the pursuit of personal agendas ("Saddam tried to kill my dad!"), I wouldn't be surprised to see the mother of all "October surprises".

Not in the least.
